Finished putting together a fully-functional Magiqcam IIa rig for my DVX (used IIa, lcd sled monitor with DIY mount, home-made battery pod, cabling, micrometer head, quick release) and I'm just tickled...much, much better than the Varizoom flowpod/sportster system I just sold.
Of course the Magiqcam doesn't compete with the Flyer, or any of the much-higher-end, much-more-expensive pro rigs, but for my purposes, well, a smooth shot is a smooth shot, and I'm getting 'em.
What fun.
And this June I'll be using it to shoot a friend's project with an HD-HCR1 (he's insisting...) and a RedRock Micro 35...which will sure be fun to mount and balance...
