I know a lot of people love Magic Bullet for giving the "film-look" but does it really offer much that other post programs like After Effects or Combustion don't?

Most of the color looks you can get in MB, can be had in AE with just a few simple effects: Levels, Curves, and Hue/Saturation. MB has some cool stuff, gives you some unique options, but too many depend on presets and don't really delve deeper into the plug.
Plus, if you don't have a hefty comp, it can take a while to render. Go download the demo and check it out, http://www.redgiantsoftware.com/magic.html.

In additions, it a one-stop-shop kind of app, it does everything in one easy interface. It is sad people don't go beyond the presets.
