Magic bullet worth it?

Right Yankee; I went through same thing , only trying to do whole flick, scene for scene.

I think the raw footage of the DVX100 in 24pa is just beautiful on it's own and just adjusting Contrast/Balance, levels and color corrector filters can give you a great "LOOK", without extra expense ,time or looking like everybody else.

Yeah I was just running some tests, but still took a while.

I experimented with a buddies MB2, but because he doesn't have a $400 graphics card it doesn't preview in real time.

While the DVX footage looks great, even with adjusting contrast sometimes you still have to work like crazy to get the exact look you are wanting. MB is a useful tool, but far from perfection.

yea. limitations. but i usually wait till the end of every thing then do it then hit render and leave.

I totally agree. Hell, Im still editing on Premiere 6.0 and the CC tools are pretty minimal, but, I still can tweak and finalize a pretty cool and interesting look. I cant wait until my new PC arrives and I can go totally nuts.
What do you guys think has the best CC tools out of the NLE's???

For PC:
I like Premire Pro 1.5 and After Effects...Also Sony Vegas 4/5/6:)
For mac:
FCP
All come with great out of the box CCs and great Motion/Chromakey features.
