Magic Bullet Looks opens wrong clip/won't edit the clip I won't.

Ok so I'm editing a promo w/lots of grading in fact it's got MB looks on every clip as I like it for editing colour.

However it's being annoying and not opening the right clip and letting me edit it, instead it's editing another and making changes to that one.

Example:

I double click on clip A, it opens in the viewer. I go to filters, to Looks, and click EDIT, looks opens.

However, instead of opening clip A it opens clip B in looks. I can make changes, but they all affect clip B, not clip A!

There's a lot of GS stuff w/this promo, so have the time I get the clip below my composited footage - so I'm meant to be seeing a dude but see a background instead (and like I said all edits will occur on the background layer not the front person layer).

However, the same thing applies with totally random clips that have nothing underneath them, they too open random clips.

One thing I've noticed is that if I have a Colour Matcher on (part of key correct pro) then it will default to the layer that I am colour matching to if that effect is above Looks in the chain.

Any ideas? I need to edit the clips but can't get into their looks!

I've had this happen but very seldom. Are you doing this on the canvas window or on the timeline? I usually highlight a clip on the timeline, with the marker on the frame I want. Then I open looks. Maybe this method will make a difference. Also make sure looks is not opening more than once by checking in the filters tab.

what worked for me:
I had the same problem. if preview showed me different clip, I went to that clip's effects and in the end of "Looks" put in the keyframe.

p.s. actually, it works by putting a keyframe anywhere in the clip. don't bother to put it exactly in the beginning/end.

Pretty sure MBL is looking at whatever clip is under the current time indicator (CTI) in the timeline. Instead of double-clicking on a clip, just view that clip in the output monitor. Then apply MBL and adjust accordingly.
