Magic Bullet and picture profiles

I've been hearing alot about Magic Bullet Looks lately. I want to understand the "proper" application, if there is one, for the software.

Does one shoot as "RAW" as you can, without picture profiles, and then run the footage through magic bullet?

Trying to decide whether to spend the time creating PPs or just do it all in post with MB.

Thanks

Just my opinion from having done one project with it and look development for another: if you know what you want, know you won't change your mind and can do it in camera, do it there. Magic Bullet is resource heavy needing a really good computer (with a really good GPU).

If you don't know what you want or might change your mind then shoot as "raw" as possible. Magic Bullet can do almost anything except act as a polarizer, but the more you do the slower it is.

It is a tool -- a very powerful tool. And like every tool it has its place. The temptation is to use this very powerful tool all the time even when something simpler can get the same results. However for a recent project that I can't talk about yet (under NDA) I couldn't have done without MB Looks.

Does that help?
