I've got my Mackie onyx satellite connected to my Laptop. I'm recording directly into Vegas 7.0.
I'm using a Heil PR40 with it (which is a dynamic) and I've noticed that I have to crank the gain all the way up to +40 on the mackie to get any kind of good signal.
I thought maybe it was because the Heil was a dynamic, but then I connected my Oktava Mk0121455454665465462132131 (A few extra numbers for you to ponder) and still had to turn the gain up almost all the way.
Is this normal? Is the answer: "Dear Noob! Yes!" or "Good Heavens! Sounds like you oughta send that sucker back!"
I have an MBOX 2 MINI sitting on my floor unopened and I'm about ready to hook it up and try it to see if it does the same thing.
Help a brother!
