Machete!

Trailer for the new Machete movie. Not digging it as much as the original. De Niro, Alba & Lohan kind of pull me out of the whole Grindhouse vibe. Casting Steven Segal, though, was genius...And I don't want to turn this into a political debate, but what the hell does "the border crossed us" mean? Yes, at some point, there were Mexicans in the south who got stuck on our side when the borders were created, but that was hundreds of years ago. Anyone alive today was either born here, or there, and if you're from over there, you gotta cross the border to get here. Doesn't make sense but it's a catchy phrase.

It is just a catchy phrase. Don't read too much into it. This looks like a great homage to old-school Grindhouse cinema. I hope it does well. We need more films like this to counterbalance all the vanilla remakes and 3D crapfests coming out lately.

I went to see Grindhouse at the theater specifically for the shots from the Machete trailer, thinking they were actual movie elements. Imagine my disappointment. So yeah! I'm in.

...Matchete flail...?

O.K., I'm in like Flynn!

^ Nice screen grab Zaza.

I predict this is the film that will save Lindsey's career.:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

No, that's gonna be her playing Linda 'Deep Throat' Lovelace...This film will probably bomb. Between the poor gross for Grindhouse (25 mil worldwide) and the non-existant gross for Black Dynamite ($279,000!) I don't think there's much of an audience for these films beyond cinephiles. This one had a much lower budget than Grindhouse though so it might do okay in relation to its cost.

i think when they release it on disc, they should have it online, too. there are a lot of college kids who dig this stuff, but live in small towns with limited theater selections.

this looks amazing to me. Just looks like a good time. People talk a lot of crap about Robert Rodriguez but the guy probably has the most fun of any director around. He seems to just make the movies he wants to and with who he wants.

^ awesome, Chip.

Hey, they seem to have taken the trailer down. Anyone have a link to where it might be seen? I looked in quicktime trailers, no luck.

not very promising but I imagine a bunch of Tarrentino/Rodriquez fan boys will lap it up
