MacBook Pro 17'' - HDV

hey guys, i recently got a macbook pro (beautiful) with 1gig of ram. i loaded in some hdv-footage. now, i can play that footage in the viewer with no problems at all, but if i take that same footage down in the timeline and play it from there in the canvas, it really starts to drop frames and stuff like that. i got all the dynamic settings, is there any way to make fcp run hdv smoothly without putting in some more ram?

are you sure the sequence is set as an HDV sequence that matches the clips properties?

yeah - all 1080i 50 - and still not too smooth...

I've been capturing and cutting HDV on my MB Pro 15", no problem.
The only problem is how much I hate HDV, but it's for a job so I shouldn't complain.
