Hey every one was wondering if any body could help me out. been searching for an answer on the web but can't find it. To sum it up i'm looking at buying a macbook to edit hd video i've heard from some people retina is bad. flash hard drive is bad. looking at the 15 inch. will be running after effects, premiere, maybe final cut 7, or X.

the two i'm looking at. links below. what one would be best. If i understand correct retina display you can't upgrade ram/hard drive. with the non-retina display i'd plan on upgrading hard drive and ram.

For Premiere or anything else that uses the GPU, you need the Retina with dedicated GPU. I have the i7 2,3 16GB Ram, does the job, but editing on a iMac or MacPro is a lot nicer...

I don't have the retina display and editing on Adobe Premier CC is a bit sluggish - the drives can keep up, but for me the annoyance is just lack of I/O. Getting more ins and outs that work properly is very expensive.

I have the late 2013 Retina macbook and it's my first macbook ever and I use premiere cc and it works great! I use it only to edit for the news and simple edits like that! for more serious editing I prefer my pc desktop workstation but it's totally another beast!!

Paulears:I don't know if you meant in/out as audio&video or what but I got this for in and out and it works good for me! and it's not expensive for what it gives!
