Mac Pro Raid card questions

I'm buying a Mac Pro but I am unsure about whether to get a Mac Pro Raid card ($999) and, if I do, which Raid setup to use to support FCP Studio 2 and Logic. (I'm getting the two 3Ghz quad core processor with at least 8GB memory and 4 internal 750GB drives). Any suggestions?

Here's what Apple posts on their site as options for their Raid card:

RAID Level Drive Requirements Benefit

Enhanced JBOD: One to four drives
A non-RAID configuration with the ability to migrate to a RAID set at any time

RAID 0 (striping): Two to four hard drives
Maximum performance and capacity for the most demanding I/O requirements

RAID 1 (mirroring): Two hard drives
Maximum protection for critical data

RAID 5: Three or four hard drives
Data protection, up to 199MB/s of sequential read performance, and efficient capacity utilization

RAID 0+1: Four hard drives
A mirror of striped drive pairs providing performance and data protection

don't buy the RAID card... just software RAID two of the drives in OS X to RAID 0. Then you'll have a system drive, a media drive, and a RAID0 scratch

If you really want to go the hardware raid route, go look at the raid controllers at macgurus.com or macsales.com Much cheaper than the apple one.
