Mac Pro-Installing Hitachi Hard Drive

Hi Folks,

I'm going to need lots of storage space for quickly accessable archive of footage this year. I haven't installed a new hard drive in my mac pro before, but I reckon I'll manage fine. My question, however, is this...

Apples own Sata drives are too pricey, and 750GB is the biggest they're offering here in ireland. I'm considering buying a Hitachi Deskstar 7k1000 SATA2... one terrabite capacity at 3GB/s ... and less than half the cost of an Apple hard drive per GB.:shocked:

Before I go ahead... anyone out there see any problems with the Apple/Hitachi combo? Should I go ahead with it?

I have 2 Hitachi drives in my Mac Pro and haven't had any problems. They're only 500GB but you shouldn't have any trouble.
