Mac Pro 2013 Commercial lighting

I'd be surprised if that wasn't simply a digital rendering. But those basic effects come from rotating a product through a lighting setup (so that highlights are caught at different angles).

It could be done with something as simple as the product on a lazy susan, with the camera mounted on a jib - or it could get exponentially more complicated.

You might place the item to be shot on a turntable, maybe mount your camera on a jib to give a slight move as well, you might add a Dedolight kit, a dozen flags on c-stands, and you have a start.

One cinematographer told me this "they use motion control cameras and platforms and have the lighting on a board that does the same cues at the same time repeatably - then they shoot them at like a frame a second so they can shoot at deep f stops to make sure they have focus across the object with the lenses there using."

What does this mean---- "then they shoot them at like a frame a second so they can shoot at deep f stops to make sure they have focus across the object with the lenses there using"
