hello all,

I was thinking about getting this:
Dual 1.8GHz PowerPC G5
900MHz frontside bus/processor
512K L2 cache/processor
256MB DDR400 SDRAM
Expandable to 4GB SDRAM
80GB Serial ATA
8x SuperDrive
Three PCI Slots
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra
64MB DDR video memory
56K internal modem

but I was wondering if this would be enough bang to run Final Cut Pro with ease.

ya get more memory. and if you want to run MOTION get even more than 1ghz. + you will also want to have another hard drive to keep your projects on rather than run it all from your start up drive. enjoy.

agreed. Pump up your ram, and add a second internal drive. (1 for your system files and programs, and one for your project files). If you can swing it, get one of the faster systems, but hey 1.8 G5 isn't shabby in any book. Have fun.

Kai is right. Ram, and an internal hard drive. They are simple to install. Apple gives you everything you need to install the internal. It takes 3 min. Plus you get to look at the inside of your G5. A beautiful sight, especially if you've seen the inside of a typical PC. Enjoy it.
