Is apple going to come out with mac book pro with core 2 duo anytime befeore the end of this year? Wanted to buy the new intel based mac book pro but would wait for some time just to see if they offer the core 2.

I know that they offer iMac with core 2 but i am looking for a portable editing system.

Also is there any limitation on the max memory?

Cheers,

Krish

supposedly before the end of the year. Probably second week of november, but you can pretty much count on before the end of the year...

...pretty much

The iMac 24" has a 3gb memory limitation. One 1GB Chip and one 2GB Chip. I dont know if the Macbook Pro's will be the same but i know the current MBP has a 2gb Limit.

my guess is they will up the limit the limit, I mean that's one of the main reasons to go 64 bit. Don't know how much though. If an iMac has a 3 gig limit then I guess it wont be more than that (damn, hoping for 4)

Last time I checked they'll let you cram 16G into the tower...who needs portability with that kind of brute force?
