I exported a giant file from Final Cut Pro (A quicktime photo jpeg file). The machine worked over night. In the morning the file was done, but the mac had crashed.
I rebooted the system and I get the gray apple screen for about a minute, then the screen goes black.
I bought Disk Warrior, and fixed/repaired the drive.
I rebooted again and it did the same thing.
Just for kicks, I left the machine on the black screen for about three minutes, then it worked. All of my files seem fine, but why does it take so long to turn on?
As a back up, I reinstalled OS 10 and my software on my second drive (I have 2 bootable drives now on the same computer).
When I boot from the freshly installed OS 10 drive, it takes just as long to reboot.
Any ideas?
I ran hardware test. Everything is fine.
Thanks!
