.mac account

I have a mac.com site and I've posted using their method, but cannot stand the provided templates. Can any one tell me how to post a 3 to 5 minute quicktime file using the mac.com site WHITHOUT their templates so that I end up with a clean page and just the quicktime file?

I believe that I've seen a few people post this way. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Re: .mac account

Mac account is nice for sync with the agenda and contacts. it's also nice for backing up my email. i also like their email account. but for all of those services, $100 is not cheap. The software they provide is almost useless. Look at Virex... that's the only program that can cause problems to your Mac. And how do people think of distributing antivirus software for a system that doesn't have viruses? As far as I know, OS X has no viruses at all.

Having said all of this, I have a Mac account myself, but I don't use it for photos or film. I find their templates absurd. A better option is to find some cheap hosting company that will give you a decent space. There are good options out there for about $5 a month. I think this is the absolute best way to go.

Re: .mac account

You'll notice in your iDisk, there's a folder called Sites... What you'll need to do is design a small website and then drop that html file into your sites folder. That's step 1.

Log in to your .Mac homepage. Create a new page (just like you would do a photo album or iMovie template page) but this time, go to the bottom tab labeled Advanced > External HTML. Step 2. Your new custom website resides there, choose it, and you're good to go...:)
