M2T to DVD... Please help!

I am editing with premiere pro 2.0 and rendering out a M2t file. We then use procoder to convert the file to a AVI to put it on dvd but the final results tend to have very poor quality.

All of my footage is shot with a brand new sony z1u but the final projects looks like it was shot on a consumer cam, with a lot of noise in the picture. Almost looks like it was even pushed a stop or two.

How can I get these m2t files onto DVD while still maintaining a high quality look? I have looked around other forums and even this one but cant seem to find a real answer.

What dvd program are you using ? The best way is to export from premiere already compressed for the DVD then when you bring it into your DVD program it won't have to re-encode the file thus preventing double and triple reencoding

Render uncompress avi from premiere and let the program convert that to mpeg DVD or just render mpg using Premiere's Media Encoder

When I use the media encoder there is only one setting for HDV (1440x1080). Which comes out with the m2t.
Any recommendations as to what setting to use for export? All the help anyone has to offer is greatly appreciated.

Do you have acces to After Effects? If you do, import your m2t into an SD composition, scale it down to fit, then export your mpeg-2 for your DVD authoring program.

If you're going to a SD DVD, why not just do Export>Movie>and then create a DV AVI file. That should yield you good quality, and then you could import that file into your DVD authoring software. Or, instead of using the DV AVI codec, choose Microsoft AVI with a codec of none (which is uncompressed), and then match your project settings.

You have have 2 ways to export out of PPro 2 - Export>Movie or Export>Media Encoder...Try the movie selection.

Premiere isn't very good at downconverting HD footage, it's better in the more recent versions, but if I remember correctly, 2.0 did a poor job.
