m2t questions

I have preordered an xh-a1 and i understand that you get an .m2t file when capturing. I just had some questions about it. I have premiere pro 1.5 and i was wondering how to go about getting the .m2t files into premiere for editting using some kind of plugin, or the best way to convert the .m2t files to .avi losslessly.
I have tryed using aspectHD in order to convert the files yet i am unsure this is the right move to be making. by the way, i will be filming a snowboard video if that has any effect on how i should do this.

I am thanking all who share some wisdom on this subject. thanks

PPRo 1.5.1 has a limited version of AspectHD that enables you to capture m2t streams and convert them to Cineforms digital intermediate codec. With this you could certainly edit the footage from the new a1.

Your choices are limited, edit with 1.5.1, continue using 1.5.1 and upgrading it to AspectHD4, upgrade tp PPro2.0 and edit HDV natively or upgrade both PPro and AspectHD.

Personally I'm not a big fan of editing HDV natively but if you upgrade to 2.0 it doesn't cost you anything to try it.

I just captures some .m2t files using aspect hd utility outside of premiere. could I have captured it inside premiere?. When I put a str8 m2t file on the timline it conforms it and then I can edit that is that like editing in hdv even if i set my compressor to be cineform codec
