M2e/MicroXe/HVX/Nikon - Edge to Edge Sharpness/lowlight tests...initial thoughts.

Here we go.......first test footage.....

I know I had a nice big spec on the lens in the m2e......should of blown it out!

nothing to amazing to write home about, just getting the hang of it.......I really need a shoulder mount setup, handholding this monster is awkward and very tiring. Especially in 100+ heat.... anyways it can only get better from here.....

It's great, It's even usable enough to put in a show, just mask the spec if needed on the lock offs.
If it's just a test, you are well on way to perfection! Excellent, handheld is all about getting that rig center balanced, i shoot a lot of hand held with a front heavy rig, it is your next technical step , the creative part is already there, that is obvious! Good Work!
Cheers

Thanks for the comment Phil,

after evaluating a few options I think that I will have to go with the redrock shoulder setup just due to budget reasons.......the zacuto stuff is awesome but it is so expensive!!! I think I can make that work for me.

I was on a roll last night........I dropped in all my nighttime clips into a timeline and quickly threw some music over it.

I wanted to go out and see how the setup performed in poor lighting conditions (ambient light around town). What you see is just that me wandering around LA at night with my camera....

First charts have a lot of CA, but the footage looks ok. Some dust on your lenses though on the vimeo footage.

CA is not so noticable on the video, but very major on the test charts...

You are brave mate, looks great!

yeah, I'm brazilian so I guess it doesn't phase me. LA streets at night are as safe as disneyland compared to the streets of RIO. We don't even stop at intersections at night there!

I don't think I'd be walking around RIO @ 4am with $10k worth of camera gear.....
