M2 adapter; order time?

How long does it take redrockmicro to send an M2 adapter to you after order? A week? 2 weeks?

...6 months? :crybaby:

They apparently get backed up often, so at most, it takes a few months or more. Many people though, recieve theirs within the next few weeks after they order. Do consider that most bad news on the internet comes from negative experiences, so not everyone will be waiting forever for an M2.

That's what stopped me from ordering mine. I dont understand how they couldnt have corrected this problem already. They are losing business because of it!

redrockmicro's motivational speech:
"When things are down and orders are backed up and customers are complaining that we're months behind, remember this one thing; at least we're not cinemek." :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

I ordered one about two weeks prior to a shoot, and rec'd an email stating that it would be more than a month from delivery. (Wish this fact had been posted on the site prior to pressing 'submit order')

After contacting their sales dep't via email (they have no published phone #), and receiving no response, I became very concerned.

After a few more emails to other dept's in their company, we finally got a response. By this time, my patience had worn thing and we decided to just cancel the order, which again, req'd a little more effort than I had hoped to get our funds returned.

I plan to purchase one (or a similar unit) in the near future; however, my experience with RedRock was not as professional and pleasant as I had hoped.

I'm sure it can be attributed to an apparent rapid growth and increased order rate and surely they will make some business changes (including phone lines and no#'s) to better serve their customers.

Thanks,

Interesting, I planned my order.
I was of the understanding that production was stepped up to a month turnaround so I placed my order on April 1st today's June 2nd no M2.
At this point it's been over two months and I have gotten my emails but the promises are showing up empty which is very disappointing, if there's on thing that gets on my nerves it's saying you going to do something and not do it.

I got my Letus 35A in 3 days :)
I too have thought about ordering the redrock, and I probably eventually will when I upgrade to a new camera, but for now the letus does me good.

Got my M2 Tuesday, May 30. Ordered March 23. So, a mere nine weeks. :crybaby:

That said, Brian at Redrock has been stellar. And now that I have one, I'm a happy camper.

Scharky, I am considering canceling my Redrock order to buy the letus, but I will not have money in the future to purchase the M2 aswell. In your opinion should I wait for my M2 which was ordered yesterday , or should I go for letus ?

JUST IMO I have not seen any footage coming from the DVX and M2 that tells me it has some big advantage over the letus.

I was a hair away from ordering also, but was put off by the ridiculous shipping time. How they haven't fixed this problem yet is as mysterious as big a mystery as the Cinemek.

I'm gonna go w/ something that ships faster.

I would say overall, the image quallity between the redrock and the M2 is going to be very very close. The one thing that the M2 would have over the letus would be build quality, but as long as you have a good rod and lens support system the letus is nice and solid (although I wouldn't use it on a car mount at high speeds or something like that).
Basically, the thing that gives you the image quality is the Achromat, the better the Achromat the better the image. The Letus uses a pretty good Achromat, I can notice a little softness in the edges when shooting 4:3, but when cropped that softenss virtually vanishies, not to menttion 2.35:1.
