I just bought an M-Audio ProjectMix I/O Control Surface for $850.00 at http://www.proaudiotoys.com/ The cost is $1000.00 and they email you a $150.00 coupon which you add to the cart and get a direct discount. It does not come with any software but it works with most software.

I got it, now the learning curve begins. The unit is awesome! I sold my Digi 002 because of a lot of problems I was having using it in a PC environment. Don't get me wrong, The 002 is a great unit, the main issue that pushed me over was that it only worked with pro-tools.

The ProjectMix is such a solid feeling piece of gear. It reviles the 002 and maybe even exceeds it in construction and can work on any DAW enabled software and the Mackie format as well. Everything is laid out so straightforward and spacious. There are 8 corresponding inputs that except line or mic. (unlike the 002) My objective is to make it work with Soundtrack Pro, and perhaps another piece of software.

I will be using it to record a few bands and musicians as well. I am trading with the musicians for original scoring and use of anything I gather at their gigs for help with their video needs. It has the potential to be a win win for everyone. These musicians are quite good and a CD or two may come of it.

i've been thinking of getting one of the mackie control.

i'm going to be using whatever i get with audition 2.0

i'd love to hear anybody using any of these control surfaces with audition.
