If using large diffusion everytime then maybe your 600d plan is the way to go, where filling a 5' or 7' softbox should be a breeze. Plus when using the m18 set up, you'll have more control if using hard light in the BG. The Lupo SpDC60 looks like a really solid option though, I don't think it will matter much in the end.
Re M18, in case you hadn't considered - chimera make 54"x72" softboxes. I don't know why but I think it looks so cool seeing large softboxes on HMIs, could be because it's such a "clean" set up.
