Luke Skywalker's light saber up for highest bid

Does it work?

(You groan, but the replica for sale at Golden Age Comics in Pike's Place Market in Seattle has a card which says "display only -- does not work." So SOMEONE asked . . . )

And depending on which one it is, wouldn't it also be Anakin's lightsaber?

LOL, I could totally see someone asking that. The fact that people still have to put up "Danger High Voltage" signs around massive transformers means someone out there still needs it

Don't get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Star Wars and not a mean guy. But if I had the money, I would buy it and break it in front of the people at the auction. Make sure it's video taped and then post it on the web. Man, now that's heartless. But you could just hear every Star Wars super fans' heads explode all at once.

$60,000 for a freakin' prop? Do you know how many helmets that could buy??!! Or vaccinations, or homes, or college tuitions? But hey, a toy placed on your mantle so you have something to talk about at your next mixer, is much more important.

Crazy, mixed-up, world.

[step down from soapbox]

If the world had fewer warning signs there would be far fewer stupid people. We're preventing the human species from evolving by keeping the dumbest denominator alive to breed. Then again, I've had my stupid moments too. "WARNING: Do NOT Eat" labels on bars of soap have been a life saver!

It’s a drop in the ocean compared to what we pay people to chase little bags of leather around a grassy lot.

HaHa, dude I'd give you the $80,000.00 and then pay you another $80,000.00 to do it if I had it. Then we'd split all the revenue from the merchandise and TV shows we'd be on for possibly being the biggest jerks of our time

I could even see a book deal: "The Icon Killers". And maybe even a sequel to "Napolean Dynamite", .................."Saber M80"

I also love the Star Wars films but it would be a real slap at the grotesque miss-use of ones money. I guess it's all relative as usuall, paying $7.50 for a mixed drink is pushing it for most folks while rich people have their favorite coffee FLOWN to them wherever they are. Must be nice.

I just hope I don't read where some poor obsessed fan mortgaged their house or something to get this and I could really see that happening. Whatever. Then again, if freaking baseballs go for what they go for that "poor obsessed fan" may turn out to be an investment genius, touring all the SW shows and then selling it again for some even more outrageous sum.

Man I've spent to much time on this, going to get a large McLife and a small order of McGrip from McDonalds...

I will buy it and send it to Hudson for his birthday since we knoooow how much he will love it. ok, not funny. :)

No no no

It's the new Star War's films that suck!
