Lucas talks about the Future again

I think it will be more like the difference between buying a CD and going to the concert. No one's bothered by that.

That is, if Lucas is even remotely correct -- which is not in any way to say he is.

Yeah i guess whatever happens, happens. though i have about 100 cd's and have been to only one concert. But your right...we dont know if George really has a clue. I'd think Steven would be more trustable...

The magic of screaming babies, people kicking your seats, cell phones going off, snoring, talking, who-gives-a-crap projection . . . ?

David and I generally agree this is why we dont make it to the Silver Screen more

People are so damn rude; and these ****ing high school kids go there in groups of 4 million just so they can be loud and obnoxious. I think I see less than 5 movies a year ont the big screen. I too stick to Matinees on weekdays

I'd like to eventually have a home theatre from hell; just a total replcated
movie theatre in a large room....

That woudlk be cool

Back in the day (or so I'm told by my dad), the '50s, there were all sorts of things in the "movie experience" that we don't have today -- serials, cartoons, and other types of shorts before the main feature (all for the ticket price), usher service, etc., etc. . . . I'm sure when that stuff ended, there were those who were sure it would mean the end of movie theaters. It didn't.

I"m starting to feel surrounded by moderators...haha. "Not that theres anything wrong with that" -Seinfeld...

Didn't it?

Most of the theaters I've been to recently are the size of my livingroom.

Except my living room doesn't have 50 strangers in it. And I don't get sleepy 10 minutes after sitting down.

What it does have is a pause button so I can pee without missing anything (well...still working on not missing the toilet bowl...), no dress code (unless you count not dressing as being a code...), and a ashtray.

I don't think I've been to a real cinema since I saw Caligula at the Penthouse East (the old Trans-Lux East) In NYC.

Streaming? Over what? The infrastructure isn't there...the bandwidth isn't there. And it won't be, no matter how many more lines or links they put up...unless the links/lines are dedicated.

Open lines? Pfffft. Nature abhors a vacuum. You make more bandwidth available, and it will be used...

Just like hard drives. :) No matter how big a drive I buy, it always gets filled up.

thats where you wrong.. and Sci-fest will be the first Public demonstration of Quantum Streaming technology..... Consider it my entry into the sci-fest... we are all gonna see some pretty amazing streaming content technology that I have been working with a company for the last 6 months on behind this festival. When your old you can say you saw it here first.

Ah, well, I don't really mind the multiplexes, but we still have a bunch of 1000+ seats theaters in town, one 1500 something and one, the biggest hall in Europe - 2057 seats...
