So, I got a 650 pepper on Ebay and it came with the wrong yoke. I don't feel like spending $100 or so on a new yoke does anyone has any ideas how to convert one out of like alumium or a cheap second hand spot to get one? Thanks.
It looks like you could fabricate a simple yoke by using a flat strip of metal, say 10-12 inches long by 3/4" wide. You don't need the slots on the side, instead a hole at the end for each of the two knobs.
At the base you can buy "pole to flat base adaptors" for 10-12 bucks: @ B&H or a photo/light shop. I bought a few pole adapters a few years back made of plastic for some small peppers size lights and they've held up remarkable well.
So you need a strip of metal, drill two side holes, drill one center pole adapter hole, bend 90 degrees in two places, you'll probally have to trim/grind the two arms to make even, paint, assemble the adaptor, attach the side knobs and you're done.
I do not know of available inexpensive pre-made yokes that will fit this fixture.
Peppers are one of my favorite lights! Once you use them, you'll always use them.
I think I'm just gona suck it up and buy the yoke. It's still a great deal on the light. Too bad I left positive feedback before I saw the yoke though. The seller seemed to have disappear as well. Too late now though. Oh well. Thanks for your response. I was thinking aluminum but thinking about it I'd rather not have it fall and hurt someone if I want to rig it in odd ways.
