Hi, bought a new lowel omni off ebay. On the part with the 5/8" receiver, there's a screw that's blocking the light stand from sliding in. Do all omni's come like this?
In general, pro lights have a tightening screw that is designed to be unscrewed so the light can slide on, then tightened down to keep the light in place.
If you aren't familiar with lights, I could see how that would be confusing.
No sorry forgot to mention, the regular tightening screw is above this 'confusing' screw.
With the 'confusing' screw, you'd need some sort of wrench or something to play with it. I think it enables the light to be tilted, but still, I can't slide the stand in
If you ever have any questions about how lowel lights are supposed to be, just pop over to their parts web site. http://www.lowel.com/parts.html
Any thing they have made is (that I know about) has diagrams of how it is put together and the part number if you need to order new parts. Many of the parts are very reasonably priced, and when I have called up lowel, everyone I talk to is VERY helpful.
Lowel might not be the BEST lights EVER, but I have been pleased with the price vs quality, and their wonderful user support.
