Lowel DV Creator 1 - HELP!

I recently purchased the Lowel DV Creator 1 light kit for my school, however I am having some difficulties setting things up.
First, I cannot seem to get the Pro Light's (the 250 watt, the smallest light in the kit) bulb in properly. I followed the instruction, but I pushed it in as much as possible, and the bulb still feels lose, it rocks back and forth vertically. Any ideas???

Another thing: The gel holder for tota lamp seems to be too big for the CTB gels they included? Is this typical???
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. :dankk2:

UPDATE: I found that the omni light's bulb was not fully in either. I've tried pushing the bulb in, but it just won't stay tight? Any ideas?

...not sure about the light thing but...

Did you try to take the little frame they give you and folding it inward a little bit. so its more of a rectangle. you'll have a shorter side the gel can clip on to then, but watch for shadow lines from the frame.... or just buy bigger gels. haha

oh, and little tip, NEVER NEVER NEVER put the bulbs in those lowel kits with your fingers, the oils from your fingers will make it really hot, and they will burn out fast. If you already have, take a rag with a little rubbing alcohol and wipe them down well, and let the alcohol dry/evaporate, it will take all the oil off.

Yeah, thanks for the reminder.

Never mind, figured it out. :)
You have to be super strong to push these bulbs in! So I had to carve a tool out some PVC pipe in oder to get the bulb in securely.

One other question: On the Lowell Pro Light, are the barn doors supposed to scrape against the light (to the point of chipping off some paint) when you turn them out fully?

Just FYI for anyone that uses a Lowell omni lights: Be VERY careful with the focus knob! I just burnt out a $20 bulb because of the slight vibrations when the light was very hot. Should this really happen? Would I be entitled to any kind of replacement? All I did was move the focus knob.. :embarasse

Is the knob loose or flopping around? It should feel pretty tight... so that it will hold any position you put it in. And yes, banging around a hot light, even subtly sometimes will blow a bulb-- it's just bad luck sometimes. And no that doesn't warrant a replacement, unless there's something really wrong with the fixture, in which case they'll replace that.

Although Omni bulbs should not be $20, unless you're buying from somewhere pretty pricey.
