Lowel Blender VS Zylight Z90?

Dang, I'm still kind of unsure on mounting the mic on that bar. Would the shotgun be okay off to the side like that? Also, would the 20mm show it (it's a 40mm equivalent, but still).
 
That's the thing with shotgun mics. They always protrude forward. I am sure many others have DSLR's with the exact same issue. That's why the cages and other contraptions are necessary because of the added accessories. Add a mic, a LCD monitor, a shotgun, battery packs, etc. then you have a huge piece of gear that dwarfs the camera itself. Someone has to make a really elegant solution to organizing the add-ons. Look at that Opteka Bracket, simple and beautiful and looks extremely well made to last for $99. All they had to do was add an extention arm, no big deal, with a couple of shoes on it, placed slightly back and up ( for the mic.) . Do they take a survey of most wanted features from videographers before they design and build such things ? Anyway, that was why I suggested the 1st side arm ( bescor) so the mic wold not sit low. I would go to the store and try the setups to see if the mic and light would clear the cam. I am sure there is a solution without breaking the bank. Maybe I should design something myself. hmmm....
