Lowbudget you say?

Just an observation, but why say your film is lowbudget when posting the vid. Or saying "shooting short..lowbudget, need help on lighting, cinematography, ect..."
Don't think we'll see martin scorsese coming on here to ask for advice on directing actors or camera placement for his next big budget flick. I read it somewhere but I believe 250 g's and below is considered low budget. Of course there are different degrees of low budget.

Point is..I think we know films posted on here or that are going to be posted on here are lowbudget. Is calling your short lowbudget some sort of disclaimer for the material it contains?

Anywho, I havent posted any films, so do I have room to talk? You be the judge. Or better yet..don't.

Just an observation.

I guess it's a way to to set the stage of expectations - to give people an idea of what you were working with (or without).

Much like when people post videos they did as part of a 48 hour contest - it's good to know the constraints that something was created under.

But - I can see what you mean. In the end we shouldn't be 'grading on a curve'....
but for the purposes of this board (learning) it's probably a good idea.

Grasshopper, spend more time getting to know those who post on here and you will see the foolishness of your words. :) There are people on here that work on projects budgeted well over $250k.

...plus it's all relative to different people. My last budgeted flick was $2,000... 5 years ago it would have been out of the question to spend that much on a short.
