Hey everyone!

I'm shooting a commercial where we are going to shoot an athlete swimmer booth above and beneath the surface.

I wan't it to have a very low key lighting. We will wait until it get's dark outside and then all the lights in the building.

I'm thinking about just having one 800w redhead spotted to get a dramatic look.

How do you think this will look when shooting under the surface?

Would be happy to hear some suggestions!

This is very confusing.

Are you filming indoors or outdoors?
Are you filming above water or below (or both)?
What camera are you filming with?
Have you done any camera tests?
Do you have any photographs of the location you could show us?

There's a million questions to ask before anyone could say whether a single 800w lamp would give a "dramatic" look. And you might want to show some examples in photos or video of what look you are going after.

Thanks for the replies!

I'm gonna try to be more specific:

It's an indoor swimmingpool. Just a regular training pool for athletes. (50 meters I think)

I'm going to film both above and below.

I will be using a canon 7d with an under water housing and a set of lenses with F2.8.

If I would find out that 800W isn't enough I have more 800's redheads, but no bigger than that.
