I got a question for eveyone... Would it help you to have an site where you can upload your videos for others to view? I've been thinking about how this might benefit not just DVXUser.com, but other video/film people around the web.
I've setup our business site a couple of months ago with a forum and upload section for our customers to use free of charge. They can upload up to 30 Mb of their videos and any registered user (anyone) can view them within the forum or d/l and view from their own computer. This work pretty well and although its not being used much (unrelated to most of our customers interests), it has a good potential and could become more active.
I'm setup right now to move about 10 Gb bandwidth per day, but really could go to whatever amount is needed based on use. It would required some custom CGI and PHP work for this type of site, so I'd really like to know if this is something you would like and make use of. I really haven't crunched numbers more then giving some thought to it, but I believe it would work at a very low cost per user. I would think something around $.05 per Mb per month with unlimited bandwidth would most likely do it. Obviously, basing cost on file-size is a variable to me, but I'm pretty sure no one would like to pay a fluctuating fee based on bandwidth usage.
Anyway, anyone interested or with suggestions can post here and well see what the common feelings are.
