Low budget doc, small team, producers fee...

Hello DVXUsers,

I'm just embarking on a low budget (approx $100k) doc for an enviro group that will require just over a year to document and produce a finished film, 20-30 minutes. We have a rough budget worked out w approx $35k for the producer (that'd be me). Wondering if that's reasonable...I'll be doing all of the filming w my HVX, possibly doing some animation, all post editing etc etc.
A separate question of ownership; Who owns the finished product? Who owns the raw footage?
Perhaps there somewhere I can get a standard contract to work from. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Well I would assume they will own the footage if it's standard work-for-hire, though I have no idea how you are a producer if you also shoot and edit it. That seems more like you're a one-man crew to me, haha.

I guess it's hard to find an exact title for my role, but one-man-crew pretty well sums it up. It's like trying to describe what kind of music you like...
I think the crux of my struggle here has to do w historically being busy making content and now also taking care of the business end of things. I'm looking for a starting point (like a generic contract to work from). Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?
