Low Angle Glidcam Shot

Hey everyone,
I've been searching around google and I haven't been able to find an answer to this question, so hopefully you can help.

I'm shooting a short film in a few weeks, and we want to have a long tracking shot (60-90 seconds) which would be filmed around 6 inches off of the ground. I want to do this with a glidecam, something like the 2000pro, but it's unclear to me whether or not I will be able to achieve this effect with a handheld glidcam, or if i'll need other supplementary items (or a different stabilizer altogether) in order to get the shot. I can only spend $3-400 for the glidecam and it's something I think I'd keep and use for a long time. I'll be shooting on a 7D BTW.

Thanks for the help!

BTW, before anyone mentions it, I've built several DIY glidecams, and I'm not really interested making another or using one that I already have made as they simply aren't smooth enough for what I'm going for.

If you get a glidecam you are going to need a low mode for it. I am not even 100% sure if they make a low mode for the 2000pro but there you go. Otherwise I would look into getting a Stunt Bar and put yourself on a skateboard or pair of rollar blades. Check out those options and see if they help.

Hmm. Thanks for the tip on the Stunt Bar. The thing is it's a very long shot that covers a lot of ground, so the skateboard method probably won't work. I'm thinking more along the lines of the tricycle shot in "The Shining"
