Love Me If You Dare

I'm sure plenty of you have seen this little French gem. I recently went on a small binge picking up foreign dvds, and I couldn't pass this one up. I thought it was clever, visually pleasing and a real trip for the mind as well as the heart. If you haven't seen it, think of it as a slightly darker Amelie though that doesn't really seem to do it justice.

Alright. I just watched this again the other night and I have to bump this.

THIS FILM IS A VISUAL MIRACLE

If you're into cinematography at all, you simply must see this film. I can't recommend it enough. The best part is that on top of all the visual panache, it's also one of the greatest love stories to grace the medium. So please, seek out this film and watch it with someone you love...or at the very least your friend who's really into cinematography.

I agree with you that the cinematography was amazing in this film. But this story left me cold. I think the upping of dares worked conceptually, but I just didn't believe that these characters would so maliciously dare each other and hurt each other. It didn't feel real. And maybe that was the point. That there was a fantastical element to their relationship. I couldn't get into it though.
