Hey has anyone see the return of the king extended version preview? Holy **** it looks awesome

www.lordoftherings.net

I actually don't own any of the extended versions....but I think they are releasing all 3 in a box set around the same price of the ultimate matrix collection.

So what one should I ask for christmas..lord of the rings set or the matrix set?

Also...just the Return of the ring (extended version) alone costs about $25...wtf....the last two were like $45...whats up with teh sudden drop in price.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

I was going to ask for it... but I can't wait 2 more weeks.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

All of the Lord of the Rings movies were pretty damn good - but the second Matrix was quite the let down, and the third was only passable. The first matrix rocks - but it's the only of the three I'd really want to own.

Lord of the Rings is definitely the better trilogy!

Re: LOTR Extended Version

Yeah, Mike hit it on the nose. The first Matrix is the only one I own. But all three of the LOTRs are such epic films.

Also look at what you get in each set, you get WAY more to watch w/ LOTR.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

yeah alright...

I only own Reloaded on dvd...and the matrix on vhs (I didn't own a dvd player back when it came out and I still haven't gotten the dvd version) and I don't have revolutions at all...but I do really want to complete trilogy in my collection. And I own every LOTR dvd except the extended versions.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

Oooh, that is a pickle.

Well if you like the Matrix alot, that might be your best bet. But on the other hand the extended versions offer SO MUCH. It's your call, my vote is for LOTR.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

LOTR. This is cool. I think it worked better because they shot it all together, that kept the flow. The Matrix films just don't fit right with the first one.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

The fisrt Matrix was super sweet. Then it all came tumbling down. The extended LOTR dvd's are great. I knew when I heard that the movie was being made, and by whom that I was in for big bucks. PJ had about 300CDN of my money when it was all said and done. Going to each film a few times witht the wife, normal DVD, and the extendeds. Sad in a way but every penny earned. It was all so well done. And the extended versions tell the story so much better. And with six hours of bonus material, and four comentaries one can geek out for weeks. I am such a GEEK. But I am OK with that.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

Plus, even with all the **** they added to the Matrix set, The LOTR set, without added anything, STILL has way more extras.

Probably nicer to, considering The wachowshis refuse to discuss anything about their films while PJ refuses to shut up! ;D

Re: LOTR Extended Version

when you watch the extras dvd's where they say goodbye to each other when principal was wrapped..man I also felt I was part of their entire adventure. It was a tear-jerker moment for me.

Re: LOTR Extended Version

Man, I gotta wait til Christmas for mine. I can't wait to sit Minas Tirith beside my collectibles from the other extended sets. On another note, I finally got my girlfriend to watch FoTR today, the extended version at that. I consider it an accomplishment as this is a woman who fidgets during a movie running over an hour :/
