losing sync after about 30 min.

So I'm tearing my hair out over the proper capture settings.
I followed all the confusing advice to capture 24pA using the pulldown preset into a 23.98 sequence and got it all to work without needing render, FInally. All seemed well. I have tons of footage so I'm capuring entire tapes at once (about an hour at a time) to then split into smaller sublclips after. Now I've noticed after about 30 minutes of each "clip" that the audio is out of sync, so that tells me that something is set wrong. I thought I had done everything right, but now the sync problems! Any ideas? Sequence preset: 23.98 Capture preset: 2:3:3:2 pulldown removed. I assumed the audio is dealt with along with the pulldown. What else could I be missing? I haven't seen this problem in the posts otherwise.

Capturing more than 30 minutes at a time isn't usually recommended if you can help it.
memory and disk access may start to slow down. Check 2-pop.com for more insights to FCP.

So, that could be it? I guess I should just cut the logs all in half then, huh? The other settings seems to be ok.
Thanks, anyway, no one would answer my previous query about how to best deal with so much footage (over 200 Hrs worth for a documentary) I'd love to hear suggestions if anyone has any. Apparently the offline rt thing won't really work out properly if I'm using 24pA footage.

You need to add the AUDIO SYNC TOOL. I think it is on the FCP install disc. After you add the tool you need to select I think it is 2 frames offset. This is ONLY if you are using the original DVX100. The other DVX cameras don't have a sync issue.

A friend of mine posted a question 2 days ago about a sync issue he is having when he prints to tape. So you may want to read his post. He only got 1 reply so I don't know how much help that is going to give the both of you!
