So i just put some quick clips on youtube i shot of my dad drumming and used my sony PDX10, shot 4:3 60i and as always the camera produced great shots. Well i cut up a quick portio of clips for him to get a quick preview before i finish the actual multi angle product. I exported using quicktime convertor using current setting, H.264 codec, best audio and video settings, muli pass encoding, and checked streaming hints or whatever.

I did this with some DVX footage and when uploaded did not loose barely any quality and this recent upload looks liek crap... what the heck. here is the footage

I can show you the other stuff i uploaded too, although that containes footage i ripped of a dvd then edited in and then re compressed so although all the footage of that is from DVX's some lost a bit more resolution and is obviously the DVD footage compared to the straight DVX stuff but would still show what i mean...

Hard to tell without a reference to the original footage. Youtube videos go through their compression just after upload and the quality improves sharply within a few hours or more.

The best output I find comes from using Compressor in FC Studio. I've locked in settings with Compressor that work as well as I could expect for Youtube. Vimeo is much nicer.
