Loose Slider Plate?

I currently have a tripod/slider setup which consists of a Konova K3 slider sitting on top of a manfrotto half ball mount and Miller Solo legs and a Manfrotto 502HD head on top of the slider plate. I keep the slider permanently attached this way and I can get pan/tilt/slider shots with the one support rig.

That's all well and good and everything is solid enough EXCEPT for the small plate on the slider which the 502HD head sits on top of. Even when it's screwed into place it isn't fully solid, there is some back and forth movement and I'd say most of my sliding or panning shots are affected by tiny bumps which really takes away from the locked down look I want.

Has anyone had similar experiences with this slider? There does not seem to be any way to tighten anything down on the plate as far as I can see. Are all sliders like this? I'd be willing to purchase a better slider if it comes down to that because this is becoming a big problem especially at times when I just have the one chance to get the shot.
