I use FCP and AE with the DVX100a & Letus Extreme. I read So many posts but my question is simple. CAN you get your movie to look just like it does on the computer when you play in on a TV? Looks great>Output>DVD=Noisy and Unprofessional.

I don't use IDVD. (sometimes if I want to burn a quick ref. copy I use it. is IDVD bad?) I prefer DVDSP. It seems I need to try several different compression techniques and see which one works the best. Thanks for the Input, at least now I know it can be done and I don't have to live with the noise.

Compressor has preset droplets to choose from or you can set it up custom. Presets are based on time amounts, 60, 90 120. Its all math, you want to figure how much time you have on a disk (single layer or dual layer) and pick the highest setting that you can to fit your footage on the DVD. There is a limit of data that a player can read per second and if you set it above that it wont play so you have to keep the level of audio an video a little below this level. thats why one choses to convert audio to AC3 from PCM because its about 1/5th the size or smaller. This is Dolby and sounds great. Few people can hear the difference if done at a high enough encode. Presets will work fine if your movie is short but if you need to fill the entire disk you should do the math. Its in the DVDSP manuel and lots of articles on line. Google.
Good luck.
