Looking for video of 9/30/04 Presidential Debate

I'm working on a project that requires some footage from the 9/30/04 presidential debate between Bush and Kerry. Does anyone know where I can find this (preferabl in miniDV format, or otherwise)?

I know, it's an odd question.

Can't help you with that one, but you could ask the guy with the DVX at the one tonight.

in the debates tonight, i spotted a guy with a dvx recording in the background, wonder if he's a dvxuser :P

I wonder how many orafices the secret service examined on him. Unless he was doing a documentary.

So who was it on this forum that got into the debates.

The chances of your finding anything on Mini-DV will be slim to nil.

well, if you are looking for video that was shot IN THE HALL of the actual debate, you won't find it other than the pool feed that you saw broadcast. i was in the hall during the debate, shooting for fox - but not shooting during the actual event. we were shooting o'reilly, shep, etc.....we were asked not to shoot the event by the debate comission - the only cameras that were supposed to be rolling during the debate. we weren't specificially PROHIBITED from shooting, but you know....

additionally, the only people who had access to riser space in the hall were from the 5 nets and cspan - and then to get on the platform required a pass in addition to the standard press credential.

so...the short answer is that it will be VERY VERY doubtful that you'll find any original, non-pool video anywhere - let alone on DV.

Thanks for that input. I don't suppose you know whether the networks or cspan will provide a copy for a fee?
