Looking for tripod, please help...

I'm trying to buy a tripod for my DVX100a. I'm kinda broke right now, so I'm trying to find a fairly priced, but decent tripod...hopefully under $1000. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

Is it fairly smooth at the head? Does it feel sturdy?

yes and for the price you cant beat it. half the time i dont even use the legs just crank up the pedistal and shoot.

I bought this Dynatran tripod and head on ebay last year.

I'd never pay what they get for it on their webpage, but I scored mine for under $300! About $320 with shipping. Looks like they still put one up every day.

Anyway, I love it - it's sturdy as anything - and the head is solid.
