Maybe somebody can help me:)
I'm looking for the device to stream from playback monitor to android devices.
I have a team working on table-top shooting, and I'm looking for the decision for everybody on the set to monitor through android phones the signal from camera. Team is about 5 people.
The device I'm looking for I want to connect to Odyssey 7Q to hdmi out and stream to androids.
There is a wi-fi router in studio, but its good to have decision without being bound to router.
Is there any easy way to do it?
No recording or any other feature is needed, the resolution can be not HD (just monitoring, thats all).
I understand, that lots of devices offer much more, but i'm looking for the most budget way.
Teradek vidiu can do it (still, is not covered enough on there site and for me is not clear enough, how the whole system works in real life).
But its $600-700, and i'm trying to get only one small feature ) Looking for the cheaper way)

thanks in advance for any helpl!

Most of these devices only support 2 or 3 direct connections to the device, I have a cheap encoder like this but haven't tested it yet, cost was under $200usd.

Vidiu is good for streaming to a streaming platform like Facebook, YouTube, etc. Without needing to go through a computer with encoding software. This means that Vidiu can send the signal straight to Facebook or whatever, directly through your internet connection without a computer. Then, anyone on any phone/tablet/computer can view your stream by going to Facebook or YouTube or wherever you are streaming to...however, with about a 10 second delay. This will be dependent on the wifi solution on set though, since that's a lot of required data to send the stream, and for multiple devices viewing the stream.

The Teradek Serv is a much better solution with its own wifi hotspot for multiple IOS devices, without needing to stream to the internet platform first. But I think they don't support Android. Best to confirm, though. With the Serv you're not having to stream to Facebook or YouTube or anything like that, you simply join the Serv wifi and open the app on your phone/tablet. The pro version can send the h264 signal to up to 10 different IOS devices. Just have to make sure it's not interfering with other signals on set...such as audio or primary camera wireless signal.

Most of these streaming devices have an internal RTMP server built in, but often they do not carry enough RAM to offer more than a few streams to clients. It should be noted that you often must use something like VLC player to connect to these direct streams. This is the specific device I bought, I'd say that I'll dig it out and test it, but I know I won't have the time. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07C19SDC4/

Teradek is another price step. I come there if all other ways don't work )

Under this lot I posted the subj text to URay on Ali express, here is their answer, it can be useful for others:

"Many thanks for your support to URay Video Encoder & Video Decoder.

May I ask do you mean you need to use android mobile phone to see the video output from the playback monitor?

If so, you can do it by using this device.. Just let the encoder transmit the wifi signal and then you use mobile phone to connect the wifi signal, then you can see the video of the playback monitor; or you can connect the encoder to the router and then connect the mobile phone to the wifi of the router, then you can view the video."

My 2 letter:

"some questions:

1. Do I need any app installed on android phone to see the video from URay Encoder?
2. Can I use it without internet connection and any router at all? Just URay encoder and android phone?
3. How many android devices can be connected to URay encoder at the same time?"

Their answer:

"1, Yes you can use VLC to view the video;

2. Yes, you can.

3. since you only use wifi, so you need to use http or rtsp, max about 7 people.. If you need more people view at the same time."

still waiting for some feedback from you, guys, about how this stuff really works, but 99% ready to buy it)
