I've been doing a lot of reading on here and other sites about good shotgun mics. Audio is not my forte but I do know the importance of a good mic. Well someone may be giving me some money and I am putting a budget together. Got pretty much everything picked out except a mic. I am really looking for a all around solid shotgun mic that produces good sound. Below $1,000 would be great but if not, I may be able to give them a wish list.
I've predominately used Sennheiser and AT, but not religiously enough to warrant only buying them. I've been reading a lot about Rode and Oktava (one of their home bases isn't far from where i live) amongst others. I didn't know if you avid audio guys had any input that I could because I have no access, rental place or friends, to get some hands on time with them.
I would be shooting anything from interviews, to short films, to commercials to action stuff. Just really about anything, both paid stuff and unpaid things, inside and out. I know multiple mics is probably the way to go and I am game, if the price is right. Like I said, I know the importance of good sound. I just need to get a budget to them that won't break the bank and then I can grow from there...aka buy more/better mics down the road.
Thanks in advance b/c I've been stuck on the mic hunt now for a long while. :dankk2:
