I'm looking at getting a set of macro tubes which appear to have threads running the entire length of the inside. What I'm wondering is where can I get another tube or ring that has OUTER threads so I would be able to thread it into the macrotube.
My goal here is to have an imaging element that can be threaded back and forth along the entire internal length of the tube.
I'm sure that I could get a filter and very carefully trim off everything except the threads, but that would not only be difficult to do precisely but would also result in a rather thin ring to try and thread back and forth. I'd prefer something at least a 1/4" wide so I could mount the imaging element inside of it and still be able to grip it with my fingers to thread it into the tube.
I don't have the macro tubes so I don't know the threading, I'm just wondering where I might find something like this which has exterior threads.
