Looking for monitor for my new video editing PC.

I am currently editing on a 27" LG monitor. it is just a basic monitor. I have just gotten into video in the last year and a half, so more just a hobbyist. My budget is $800-$1000. I have looked at a few of the ultra wide monitors or getting two new 27's. I would really like to have a monitor or TV to view timeline production in full-size. I could also just get another monitor to use as my fullsize preview monitor.

I am Windows 10, adobe Premiere, shooting on GH4 in 4k, rendering to 1080.

Thanks
Shane

I am also thinking of getting a new primary monitor. I have been thinking of large uhd screens and the Philips 43" BDM4350UC has caught my attention. But I would love to get some feedback from you guys about it.
Smart or Stupid? I love the idea of all the space and the pixel depth!

Thanks

I have the Samsung S34E790C 34" Ultra-Wide Curved Monitor. I like it, takes a little getting used too, you kind of have to use it like two monitors. Meaning if you opened a pdf document full screen, it will look ridiculous.

if I had to do it over again, I probably would have went with an IPS monitor but this is not bad. This isn't a real replacement for a proper production monitor to view your final output though.

I just took delivery of a manufacturer refurbished Acer B286HK 28" LCD LED 4K UHD display. So far, so good. I paid about half what they sell for new, comes w/ a 90 day warranty. I can't say that it looks brand new, but there are no dents or dings, and the only small scratchers are on the base. The picture itself looks very nice. I am shooting my first 4K event this weekend, and i am looking forward to editing with this monitor. I calibrated it as best I could using my NVIDIA video card controller with color bars, and it looks good, albeit a bit "greenish".

I have been thinking of trying a 50" 4K TV for a monitor. Before that, I was wishing for a couple of 30" monitors, have 2x 24". The main problem is I will also need a new video card to do 4K. The computer has 32 cores to work with so I guess it will do for awhile yet even though it is getting old. Anyway, there is the problem with going into ultra high resolution monitors, you may need to do some upgrades for them to work, so it is usually not just a case of a new monitor.

Very true that it is not just a case of upgrading your display. I have a 6 core 3.6 processor system (32 cores WOW! Didn't know that was available yet to consumers), and upgraded to an NVIDIA GTX 970 card (not the latest and greatest, but in my budget). I had been using two 24" Gateway FHD2400 monitors, and the Acer B286HK 28" took the place of one of them. I'll find out soon whether or not my system is powerful enough for editing 4K. I don't do a lot of real high-end graphics or compositing type stuff, so I am hopeful.

I should have added, I have 32 gigs of RAM. Also an important factor along with video card, processor, etc.
