Looking for Mike McDermitt's Clips

Hey guys. I was going through some old threads and saw that there was a lot of hype surrounding Mike McDermitt's clips last year. Apparently they looked really professional due to both camera techniques and After Effects work. I'd love to see these and learn what I can from them, but alas his site is offline. If anyone has a copy of his clips. (I think there were 3), please PM me and we'll work something out. Thanks a lot.

Damn it man

It's MATT, not MIKE and GOOGLE IT ALREADY...

Of course; Googling MIKE isn't gonna get you anywhere is it? :undecided

I don't know what is scarier? Matt being so young nad having these skills or the fact that hot chicks like in this video actually do like nancy boys like in this video.

Nevertheless....

Matt is gonna go places. I look forward to seeing this kid grow.

John, Did you just refer to the Great One as a young nad? :)

This couldn't be the same Matt McDermitt who bought an XL2 is it?????

Yep. The very same one. Went from the DVX to the XL2, mainly to use the mini35. Of course, IIRC, he bitterly complained about the XL2 camera and hated it and regretted having bought it...

SHHHH.....

I'm trying to bust Johnnie's stones and here you are raining on my parade! Where's the love Barry????

(Although I do think once he got his repaired (Viewfinder) he was relatively happy it - he kept shooting with it, after all and he certainly could have returned it).

DOH! Sorry, didn't mean to get in the way of aggravatin' ol' Walken himself. He seems a little touchy recently. Things goin' okay, John?

Love your location, btw...

DUDE! I'm with you man. Two days smoke free. It sucks... I love smoking. I love smoking almost as much as I love screwing, and I LOVE screwing...

But I'm in solidarity with you!

You know, if you cover up the girl, that video isn't really all that good.

Joking, McDermitt's stuff rocks.

Ahem, I'm just a nobody so don't really pay any attention to this..
But i loved the recent Vacation footage millions times over this.

I mean, to me it seems that the "power of love" (namely the hottie in there) and a really good cut with some post fx added (in an elegant fashion) hide some really basic footage..
I was really lost when seeing the girl the first time (ehm, you know) but there's not so much beside her. But that could just be me.

I saw much more talented people in the arts (as of using a camera to tell something, so people who could really aspire to become good directors) in this forum:
the guys behind "Broken" are very good, but above all the three guys that directed "Stadium", "The Riddle" and "Videoclub" (the last one with a sony, so more kudos to him for being able to really use that ^_^).
And dont' forget the Vacation clips. And the guy who's doing all those marvellous documentaries about parks (pinelake prod if i'm not mistaken).

This one is good, but there should be more in a video than a terrific cut and a pretty girl (okok, a hot chick ^_^).

I'm not trying to be too critic, but it's not the best here by lenghts.. and this thought is based on just an impression that his video left me that i thought i could share with you people..

That's my two cents..

Ok then, start flaming ^_^

I'm with you Jaist. That recent Vacation 35mm is so 'film like' I swear they were running around with a 16mm. I personally love that clip.

Matts work is very nice but I think the hype lies in him being 17 years old. He has the technical chops no doubt; he just needs to live a little and experience some life. That will bring out some experimentation and vision I think

ah, forgot to add to my "awesome list" the guy who's DPing for one of the members here (forgot the name sorry) who did all those music videos and the film "Tumbe".
Those were killer shots, and showed some deep know-how.

Can't take my eyes off the vacation thingie.

And the footage fo pinelake would benefit a lot from a 35mm adapter..

Ok, i'll stop rambilng. I'm just glad that some of the seniors agree with the points i stated before.
