Looking for HD Military Stock Footage

Working on a project right now for a client, need some quality, HD, royalty free, license cleared stock footage of battle scenes of US soldiers in Afghanistan, Predator Drones, Drone Feeds, Chinook & Blackhawk troop deployment, troops engaging in hi-lo, four man stacks etc.

I've been scouring the net... Even bought a couple from Critical Past. Older Iraq and Vietnam. OK for period look scenes, but not for new scenes. MEH.

Most of the stuff out there at Corbis, Shutterstock etc is either pretty old or insanely expensive for buyout. I don't mind paying soemthing for a good collection and believe folks should be compensated fairly for their work, just as I'd want to be - if someone knows of a good source, or if you are a vet and you've personally shot some stuff that we can work a license deal for, I might be game. I'm just trying to avoid some of the 15 seconds for $299 type "deals" out there.

Just need this as B-Roll for a few seconds during VO here and there for a client product sales demo... virtual reality trainer stuff. Thanks!

I can't remember who, but a member here has a collection of Blackhawk clips. IIRC, he has them up on Revostock. Otherwise search around here for the thread on it.

There's a free site that probably only has old stuff (hence the name) but you might find something there: archive.org

Good luck.

The US military has combat camera people in every branch of service in every theater of operation whose primary job is to document military operations. This photo & video material falls under public domain. You can get them through the Department of Defense, as long as they're not classified.

Call the public information office at the Pentagon or start here: http://www.defense.gov/multimedia/multimedia.aspx

Thanks Arnie Pix... this is what I was looking for. I new the DOD had something like this, I just couldn't figure out where. Awesome resource. Much appreciated!
