Looking for dramatic short

I am looking for a good dramatic short. One that can actually be easily shot with out having to be on one of the coasts, in outer space, or ancient Rome. I am especially interested in social commentary pieces; anything commenting on our society or how we are/interact as human beings. Maybe with a running length of 30 minutes or under.

I have done many video and film projects in the past, and I am currently tired of the corporate video scene that feeds the family. I want to get back into doing dramatic work again.

Does anyone on this site have anything they could offer? Suggestions?

Explanation of the self interest carrot

I have never liked sending e-mails. Its hard to read the tone of other people.

I work with a group of people in my home town that do work on videos like others who do community theatre. In fact, many of our actors and actresses come from local theatre groups.

A long time back, many of us worked on projects in Super-8 and 16mm film, (when we could afford the film in the mid 90's) 3/4 inch and Betacam. Much of our work was screen locally and on our community TV station.

Over the last three years, I've taught lighting and narrative camera techniques at the Hot Shops Film Festival in Omaha. The abundance of talent, both in front of and behind the camera became a renewed interest in getting back into dramatic work once again.

Although we want to work up to a feature at some point, several shorts are far more possible. We have a large resource of equipment a lot of talent in terms of the actual production and post-production, but we lack writers. I truly appreciate good script. As with some of the DVXusers on this site, we have shot and cut our share of schlock over the years. Before the grip truck, camera and crew are pulled together, the script must come first.

I apologize if the request for a script seemed in self interest. Its more of a communal interest, and in the interest of shooting and getting out to the public quality material.

Respectfully,

Greg Kubitschek

I have a short that might interest you. Send me a PM if you're interested.

And it's free for credit and a copy. Very personal story for me.

I've had one short that I wrote produced, have produced a short and a feature, and am about to direct my own short.
