Since when does Trapcode do text?

Anyway, Dean Velez probably has something for you. He uses a lot of text animation to achieve all sorts of effects. There's some free project files somewhere on the site that are good.

Have a look at http://www.ayatoweb.com/ae_tips_e.html. He is a Japanese fellow but his English is easy enough to follow and he does some amazing stuff. Very flashy text/logo work may not be what you are looking for but pretty cool none the less.

Trapcode makes plugins for After Effects and they have some great tutorials and links for doing some text work.

"Adobe After Effects 6.5 Magic" by James Rankin & Anna Ullrich has many cool text effects. In addition to Amazon, O'Reilly/Safari Online sells it via download (and has samples on their website)
