looking for advice on an effect...

basically I have 2 separate clips that are 6 sec each. I'll be time streching each 200% (obviously making them 12 secs). I'm making a music video and basically I want the 2 clips to slide by each other during the 12 secs that they run. So kinda like taking each one and shrinking the vertical aspect of each to 50% and moving one up and the other down. And basically moving one off screen to the left and the other to the right and have them each sroll across the screen during the 12 seconds. now with after effects there is got to be a way to do this and make it look "cool", lol. So if anyone has any ideas like that please advise. btw been a lurker forever now and finally just created my account to this wonderful site so I can finally post!

Hey Mark, well first off welcome to DVXuser!

This effect is super easy in After Effects, you will just be using scale and position keyframes to move and scale the clips. Now, in terms of making it "cool" that is something you'll just have to see once it's done. You might decide it looks really cheesy, or it may fit.
 
thanks for the welcome :). gonna try it with a bevel edge look and see if that will make it look ok. I know I want some sort of egde on the clips. I know this is kinda basic, I just want to snazz it up a bit.
 
um well getting an error "after effects: out of memory. (8100k requested) (23::40)"

anyone know what that is?
